244 Laide of Reiff

244 takes its number from the original Croft but is in fact one of only 3 houses in Laide of Reiff located at the northern end of Altandhu, one of several villages in Coigach commonly referred to collectively by the name of the largest village, Achiltibuie . It is located immediately opposite Isle Ristol and the islands of Mullagrach and Glas Leac Mhor and the view from the house includes the remainder of the Summer Isles with a backdrop of the Torridon mountains and the northern end of Skye with the Shiant Islands and the hills of Harris and Lewis out to the west.

The house is located at the end of a spectacular single track road which assists in preserving the tranquillity of the area. 244 is approximately 40 minutes drive from Ullapool which is itself about an hours drive from Inverness. Generally speaking drive times in total from the central belt of Scotland are about 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic on the A9.
